The 120 company employees are located in the state-of-the-art facility in Coral Springs Corporate Park. 2020 Company to Watch – eReceivables is a partner to healthcare organizations for processing medical appeals. Headquartered in Coral Springs since 2016, the 36-employee company prides itself on outstanding customer service. 2020 Heart of the Community Award – Owned and operated by Aimee Tart, Lady and the Mug is a local coffee shop committed to changing lives one mug at a time. In 2019, $9,000 were raised and used on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. for 22 veterans through various charitable events, like Mugsgiving and Santa Claus Bus for a Cause, held on location through the owner’s nonprofit organization, Tartes Hearts. Proceeds raised from Coffee of the Month go to multiple nonprofits throughout the year. Lady and the Mug is a business focused on having a sense of purpose rather than being distracted by profit.

2020 Legacy Award – Oma’s Garden has provided its business in the City of Coral Springs for the last 30 years. Owner Diana Farrar promised her grandmother that she would take care of her gardens after she passed – Farrar opened the shop instead. She has built relationships with her customers over the years and seen families through births, proms, weddings and other major life milestones. Employing four people and working with local high school ESE programs, Oma’s Garden has seen 10% growth year-over-year.

2020 Commissioner’s Award – The largest provider of pediatric care in Broward and Palm Beach counties and highest-ranking orthopedic program in the state, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital opened its Coral Springs facility in 2011. The facility has doubled its rehab program in response to the needs of the community and has a contract to provide trainers to 29 schools in the County, including Coral Springs Charter School. The hospital provides services involving general surgery, audiology, pulmonology, ENT and delivers 54% of the babies in Broward County. Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital believes its duty is to advocate on behalf of the children; its design is driven by direct parent and patient feedback and as a sponsor to local events, the hospital believes community involvement is key to its success.

*The Business Recognition Program was created for the purpose of giving formal recognition to Coral Springs businesses that have contributed to the economic well-being of the city and have demonstrated a commitment to the vitality of the city’s business climate.

These six success stories are featured in a video used to promote positive business growth, highlighted on social media and the Economic Development website. The Business Excellence Award recipients were selected and filmed prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. The award ceremony, which was scheduled for March 18, was postponed, however we wanted to highlight their outstanding achievements.

Company to Watch Award – Owned and operated by Naztazia and Dennis Wellert, Nothing Bundt Cakes not only serve up delicious desserts, they hire and mentor local teens and assist other franchisees opening nationwide. They selected Coral Springs to open their franchise because of its reputation as a family-friendly community and when they opened their shop, they relocated their family to the City.

Heart of the Community – Owned and operated John Biesterfield and family, Green Thumb is more than the largest Lawn Mower Super Store in Florida. Last year, Green Thumb organized a collection of more than $50K to ensure the daughter of Coach Aaron Feis has her college paid for in full.
